Book Launches On Social Media
A good rule of thumb is to assume that your basic method of contacting the world is going to be social media. This means weeks before you start talking about the launch, you need to be grabbing and prepping your Social Media platforms.
Secure your branding. Get your Twitter, Facebook Fan Page or author page, and any other relevant pages setup. An author page is better if you only have one book, but if you already have a following you may want to jump right to a fan page for each novel if you concentrate on Facebook.
Prepare an author blurb for each and every Social Media account. Include your book or website link, the book or author twitter account, and enough keyword phrases to boost your Google search ranking.
If you don’t know what to do for a keyword, go over to the Google Keywords tool and run some ideas. Find the keywords that have the most searches and the least corresponding competition.
Back Linking Your Book
Amazon has a huge page rank and if your book isn’t currently listed there, you are letting that wonderful page rank float away. Make sure that you back link from your sites to that Amazon page.
Contrary to popular opinion, it is becoming clearer that the best way to raise your own page rank is to put up articles about something and then link to that article rather than your actual page. In this game, you should use the Amazon page for your book as the ‘article’ and then link to it as much as you can.
Because your name is on the Amazon page, drawing attention to that already ranked monster will do wonders for your own page rank.
